Apparently, these jellyfish have been trapped in this lake for the past 12,000 years. And since not being out in the ocean with predators, they have lost their stinging capabilities through evolution. People that live on the Island of Palau Republic go swimming in the lake and play with the jellyfish! They’re completely harmless.

  38. alsoupicecream said: I’ve been there! Palau > all other vacation destinations. It was awesome but kind of scary because a few meters down there were white moon jellyfish that are, unlike the orange bundles of joy, quite poisonous. But they don’t coem up to surface level.
