Another reason to love the Oxford comma.

When peer editing papers at school people would often try to get me to remove the oxford comma, and they never understood how it changed the sentence. People who go to art school are not notoriously good writers.

I highly suggest everyone read my brother’s wonderfully reasoned and wonderfully dorky article about why the oxford comma is actually bullshit (read: should not be used by rote) despite our nostalgia and poorly constructed examples.
